Biological physics : energy, information, life Upplaga 1

This first edition textbook predominantly focuses on new results found in molecular motors, self-assembly and single molecule manipulation that have revolutionised the field in recent years. Nelson is able to integrate these new findings with classical results. There is also plenty of foundational material for the emerging field of nanotechnology, bringing to life a subject that is predominant in biological physics in universities today. Students will learn how the lessons of biological physics apply to all fields of science, and shall be able to go beyond this to consider the relevance within their everyday lives. This title is geared towards undergraduate students who have to take a one year calculus- based physics course. Therefore the text is self-contained and comprehensive with pedagogical detail throughout. An additional section has been added, "Track 2" contains more advanced material for senior physics students and graduate students as well.
