Last night a DJ saved my life : the history of the disc jockey

The history of the rise of the DJ - from the humble 'talking jukebox' origins of the radio disc jockey to today's DJ superstars who travel the world earning rock star salaries with a fanbase to match - is fascinating and unpredictable. The story starts in London, New York and Paris in the swinging sixties, progresses through the global sequinned revolution that was Disco, and then via HipHop to House and the situation now. Including contributions from many of the world's top DJs - like David Morales, Junior Vasquez and Todd Terry - this book tells the definitive story of the millennium's most unlikely cultural icons.
