One Small Act of Kindness

When a woman is hit by a car and knocked unconscious, passer-by Leonie offers to accompany her in the ambulance to the hospital. Only the woman's necklace offers any clue to her identity: a gold F on a chain. When F comes round, she's suffered complete temporary memory loss, and can't remember who she is, where she's come from and why she's in Longhampton. What's even more shocking to her is that she's eight weeks pregnant. Leonie feels sorry for the scared woman, and offers to put her up for a few days at Swan House, the rundown B&B she and her husband Ed are trying to convert into a chic romantic hideaway. Faith, as they're calling her, has no memory of why she was coming to Longhampton but as the days pass, she starts to get the feeling she was looking for someone. Trying to find someone? And that she's lost something. Something important. As the women's friendship blossoms, Ed's distant, withdrawn behaviour starts to upset Leonie, who begins to wonder if he knows more about why Faith is there than he's letting on. As secrets threaten to destroy Ed and Leonie's marriage, Ed's younger brother Angus arrives at the hotel and things are unsettled even further. Because Angus does know who Faith is.
